The Project

The Enercon E-175 EP5 E2 turbines are expected to produce around 50 million kWh of clean electricity, enough to supply approximately 29.000 people.

The wind turbine sites are located in Puncher Forest. The wind measurement has already been successfully completed.

Adjacent to this project, another wind farm is being developed on land belonging to the town of Laichingen and the municipality of Heroldstatt. The joint project development creates synergies, particularly through the shared use of construction infrastructure.

WIND POWER IN THE FOREST

The planning and construction of our wind farm are carried out with the utmost respect for the environment and nature. Land use in the forest is limited to the necessary minimum. Wherever possible, logistics and storage areas, for example, are located outside the forest. In this way, only a limited portion of the forest area needs to be cleared.

Existing roads will be used for development wherever possible and only expanded where technically necessary. After completion of the construction phase, temporary construction sites will be completely dismantled and the land restored.

All areas affected or cleared will be fully compensated through replacement and mitigation measures, such as reforestation elsewhere. The specific scope of these measures and the action plan are currently being determined in close consultation with the relevant experts and the forestry authority.

In the long term, the wind farm makes a significant contribution to climate protection – and thus also to the preservation of our forests. Every kilowatt-hour of clean electricity generated reduces CO₂ emissions and supports the urgently needed expansion of renewable energies in Germany.

Involvement of relevant stakeholders in the planning process:

  • Regular coordination and site visits with the forestry authority
  • Close cooperation with the local community of Heroldstatt
  • Conducting a preliminary application conference with the relevant public bodies.

Mains connection

The distribution network operator Netze BW has assigned a network connection point on the existing 110 kV overhead line Laichingen-Schmiechen at a distance of approximately 2,2 km south of the planned wind farm, at which feed-in to the public distribution network is planned.

At the network interconnection point, during the implementation of the Magolsheim wind farm A substation was built and is operated by Schöller SI Erneuerbare GmbH. According to current plans, the Heroldstatt-Ost wind farm will be connected to the public grid via an extension of this substation.

MUNICIPAL PARTICIPATION

Municipal tax according to §6 EEG

To allow towns and municipalities located near our wind farms to financially participate in our projects, we pay, among other things, a voluntary municipal levy in accordance with Section 6 of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) from the commissioning of new construction projects. This amounts to 0,2 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity fed into the grid.

Value creation in the Heroldstatt region

Economic participation for local citizens and municipalities

Financial participation for the community through lease payments, electricity yields according to EEG §6 and trade tax revenue
