The Project

A future-oriented wind energy project is being developed in Reutlingen:

Four modern wind turbines from Enercon will generate around 48 million kilowatt hours of environmentally friendly electricity annually. This corresponds to the average electricity needs of approximately 27.500 households – sustainably and regionally.

The wind turbines will be erected at carefully selected locations in forested areas belonging to the city of Reutlingen. Responsible use of nature and the landscape is particularly important to us. After their operational lifespan, the forest areas will be reforested and all areas will be returned to their original state, ensuring continued sustainable use.

The Neckar-Alb Regional Association is currently working on a partial update of the regional plan to identify suitable areas for open-space photovoltaic systems and wind energy utilization. The goal is to implement the legal requirement to designate 1,8% of the region's area for wind energy and 0,2% for solar energy.
On July 22, 2025, the Association Assembly approved the second consultation draft. The resolution on the partial update is expected by the end of 2025. The wind farm is located in the area planned by the Neckar-Alb Regional Association.

Mains connection

The grid connection can likely be realized relatively close to the project via the existing 110 kV overhead line. The exact grid connection point will be assigned to us as the project progresses.
In collaboration with engineers from Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW), we are currently also examining the possibilities for integrating a photovoltaic system and a battery storage system.
