After Schöller & Partner GmbH gave the go-ahead for the City North expansion with the “Stuttgarter Tor” high-rise project, the development and construction of the “Customs Quarter” is the second important part of the City North district in Reutlingen. Together with the post office district acquired by the city, the customs district forms the core area for the City North expansion.
The customs quarter, consisting of the properties along Burkhardt+Weber Straße 28-36, is the sole property of Schöller & Partner GmbH. Thanks to its central location directly opposite Reutlingen's main train station and with a connection to the multi-storey car park, it has the best infrastructure connections. The city center can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes.
It is planned to double the currently available area of around 14.000 square meters by rounding off the property. This would make the customs quarter the same size as the Obere Wässere urban quarter designed and built by Schöller & Partner GmbH and awarded by the state of Baden Württemberg.
A total of four construction projects are planned for the customs quarter. The intended uses range from various types of housing to retail, commercial and office space. The first construction phase is located at the railway underpass between the multi-storey car park and the existing customs quarter development and will then be supplemented by the three further construction phases along Burkhardt+Weber Straße.
Schöller & Partner GmbH is pleased to have received the full approval of the local council factions in advance. Promising talks are currently being held with the city administration. The next meeting will be in February next year. It is planned that the foundations for a corresponding building permit will be created in 2017, so that the start of construction for the first construction project in the customs district can take place in 2018.
