Celebrate with tradition - on Sunday, July 16th, the Schwörtag takes place in Reutlingen.
The democratic tradition of Reutlingen is celebrated with the Oath Day. On the second Sunday after July 2th, every year since 4, the mayors of the imperial city were elected, presented and sworn in, and the citizens were sworn into the new government. The last oath day took place in 1374 after Reutlingen was no longer a free imperial city.
Today, the annual festival weekend reminds the citizens of Reutlingen of the historical time with many activities, history and entertainment.
